Clinical Experience

My orthopaedic practice has been shaped by training at busy tertiary-care government hospitals in Mumbai and leading academic institutions in India and South Korea. My postgraduate training in Mumbai provided extensive exposure to a high-volume and diverse spectrum of orthopaedic trauma and elective surgery, with the opportunity to manage complex musculoskeletal problems in a demanding tertiary-care environment. I subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training in adult joint reconstruction at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul, gaining focused experience in contemporary joint replacement surgery. This was followed by dedicated clinical training in arthroscopy and sports medicine in Kolkata under the mentorship of Dr. Debasis Chatterjee, a leading specialist in the field with a high-volume sports medicine practice. Together, these experiences have shaped my clinical practice across joint replacement, arthroscopy, sports injuries and the management of knee, hip and shoulder problems.

I believe good orthopaedic care begins with a thorough understanding of the patient and the problem, rather than with an imaging report alone. Clinical examination remains central to the diagnosis, while appropriate imaging and other investigations are used to confirm the diagnosis, assess the extent of the problem and guide treatment planning. I consider the available medical evidence alongside the patient's symptoms, functional limitations, activity level, expectations and individual circumstances. Treatment options, including non-operative and surgical approaches, are discussed openly so that patients understand the potential benefits, limitations and risks of each. The aim is to arrive at a treatment plan that is medically appropriate, realistic and aligned with what matters to the patient.
